Spectacular Iceland

Iceland Express takes you there from Hahn in 3½ hours.
June is the best time to go, as the weather is generally fine, around 20 degrees, and it never gets dark.
We were mainly in the south and south-west. Reykjavik is worth a full day.
The scenery is spectacular. Excellent opportunities for walking, cycling and horse-riding.
The people nearly all speak English and are very friendly, apart from the thief who stole my glasses at the Blue Lagoon.
Prices are also spectacular, especially alcohol and restaurants. Not sure about hotels, as we stayed with friends. Car hire is expensive, but it's worth paying the extra for a 4WD, as the best places are inaccessible by normal car.
More info and photos on request.

Norway - Finn-ish Style

The scenery on the islands to the west of Tromso is spectacular and they are linked by good roads, very occasional bridges and a network of small vehicle-ferry routes. The sea does not penetrate as deeply into the glacial valleys as in southern Norway so there are a number of flatter areas for scattered settlement. We were there in mid-June and many mountains still had significant patches of snow.
