Exploring Evia

Last week I went on a Greek Caique Cruise with Explore holidays. High winds (gale force 8 the first day we sailed!) meant that we mainly cruised around the coast of Evia, which might not be the most touristy of the Greek islands, but is very beautiful nonetheless. This trip would not be for the claustrophobic or those inclined towards sea-sickness, but great fun for anyone who enjoys messing about on boats, swimming, snorkelling and a bit of hiking :-)

Athens

Spent a few days in Athens lately, soaking up the local sunshine, sights and my own weight in olive oil. If you're looking for an accommodation tip, I can highly recommend the Athena Baby Grand Hotel [65 Athinas & Lycourgou StreetGR 105 51 AthensGreeceTel: +30 210 3250900Fax: +30 210 3250920], very centrally located just off Omonia Square.

The Athens sight-seeing bus - a bargain at only €5 for a 24-hour pass that also covers metro and bus transport around the city - is just a minute's walk away from the hotel and is a great and air-conditioned way of getting around.
